Dwight Hall, SOM and us.

"Maii-what!" I would have said in Bishlamar, the native tongue of the island where I was raised in the New Hebrides Island (South Pacific). From the time when I found myself disabled at age 34 over 2 decades ago until now, we (including for the past 9 years my husband John) have come such a long way! Wow would be more or less the American translation or incredible, I cannot believe it!

Yet, yes after all the others steps we have been taking, this one is only another natural one within the journey. The closer you get to your goals the more precise the revelation becomes. Even though we are still far from the global enterprise, I first dreamed about, the social justice of it is really picking its head out and that is a real pleasure. Dwight Hall at Yale Center for Public Service and Social Justice, Innovation lab mentor-ship award, reinforce the Social aspect we always had and sort of make it official. The presentation that is following our short session with Yale is coming up in a few days. I remember arriving in New Haven from New York, where I was living in a room of a Bronx Catholic Residence, after years of homelessness. The Green, Yale Oxford look next to the elms, nothing as a foreigner seemed accessible then. I was at home anywhere but they did not know that (I had traveled so much). It took a lot of research to find out, who they were and my place in this final outpost. I used to say New York for the fashion and Yale for the brain, the train indeed stops here. A decade, an event, Wenesday April 18th 2018 at the School of Management (SOM), room 2420, Tinaliah 'the One who perseveres" will be presenting. Meanwhile I just want to delight in the thought of it.

What is it that we capitalize?

Governor, Edward Stack will preside over Congress at 3:00 pm.

Edward Stack, governor of Never Everland is deeply troubled by income disparity in his state.

That is one way to look at it. Where is the accent put on?

The priority lays in our grammatical correctness, but even there….many shades of grey can be found..

At Tinaliah, we Capitalize on collaboration and reaching common goals together. All the efforts put into developing Tinaliah Co-op, have their ways to come back gracefully as members’personal reward. As we persevere together, we become better together. The availability each one demonstrates, continue to help all of us collectively and individually.

I suppose like in any other worth while organization, one gets rewarded by combining skills and efforts toward a vision or a common goal. The only difference lay in the fact that we are all members, I am a member just as anyone else, who wants to become involved. I Capitalize on Tinaliah Co-op, labeling my hats with the name of the collective “by Tinaliah Co-op”, in order for the collective to benefit, instead of putting my sole name on it. It is my choice. If the product shines others will shine as well. Their products will get a better chance to succeed by association. The Co-op members and supporters, who understand and apply Tinaliah collaborative ‘s principle, develop a passion for what we do. They understand what we do and want to get involved.

Members have become involved in fashion shows, sale events, free and discounted workshops and scholarships, exhibits and state representation, introduced to mentors and groups that could help them grow, some have received contracts adding to great financial increase.

An Irish proverbs states “Love many, trust a few, always paddle your own canoe”, people come and go, it is so good to find the few that will share, travail with us and share our heart to make the World a more collaborative space.

I knew the word had something to do with clarity in pictures... Resolution. I still get words mixed up with my French native tongue at times and yes in English resolution points to the density or number of pixels in an image, but not so much in French. So I looked it up.

Definition of resolution

  1.  the act or process of resolving: such as a :  the act of analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones b :  the act of answering :   c :  the act of determining

  2. something that is resolved made a resolution to mend my ways b :  firmness of resolve

  3.  a measure of the sharpness of an image or of the fineness with which a device (such as a video display, printer, or scanner) can produce or record such an image usually expressed as the total number or density of pixels in the image a resolution of 1200 dots per inch

One word sums it all: determination. At Tinaliah we are resolute to be successful against many odds, determine to stay motivated and to persevere. As the CEO of this non-profit I do not need the dictionary for this word, it is already wired in my heart.  No matter what things look like at times, our Co-op and team will continue forward on this journey. Remaining as human as possible we have decided to choose people above things. We sacrifice and give. Discerning the elements in which we navigate (geographically, economically, socially, politically) we analyze, synthesize the present mix of affair in order to bring clarity and Light to the whole.
